A Champion in Search of a New Program
Breaking: Former FSU commit and two-time JUCO champion Justin Nunn is officially in the transfer portal. After overcoming injuries, academic hurdles, and institutional missteps, Nunn is ready to find a new football home where he can showcase his talent.
Nunn was originally part of Jimbo Fisher’s 2017 recruiting class at FSU but was ruled a non-qualifier. Determined to continue his football journey, he went the JUCO route. However, his road to success was far from smooth—early in his career, he suffered injuries in a devastating car accident. This setback forced him to transfer from his first JUCO program in Mississippi to a smaller school, where he played a limited role while recovering.
Despite his challenges, Nunn made an impact, helping his team win a state championship at North Florida. When that program shut down due to financial issues, he moved to Birmingham JC, where he played limited snaps due to lingering injuries but still contributed to a national championship-winning team.
Following his JUCO success, he transferred to UCF in 2019, hoping to play at the Division I level. However, an institutional mistake with his transfer credits left him ineligible, preventing him from seeing the field. He later attempted to play at VUL in 2021 but encountered more problems—COVID-related staffing shortages led to financial and academic issues that kept him sidelined.
Not one to give up, Nunn transferred again, this time to MDA JUCO, where he finally got back to playing. As both a quarterback and tight end, he helped lead the team to a conference championship and a quarterfinal win. This success caught the attention of Alabama A&M, and in 2023, he transferred there with hopes of continuing his career.
Unfortunately, due to a campus housing crisis, Nunn—along with more than 130 other students, including several football players—was left without a place to live. This forced him back into the transfer portal, where he now seeks a fresh start.
With four years of eligibility remaining and waivers in place for immediate playing time, Nunn is a seasoned player with the experience, versatility, and leadership to make an impact.
Which program will give him the opportunity he has worked so hard to earn?
