Most Entertaining Wrestlers of All Time
The world of wrestling is quite different from how it used to be. These days, wrestling superstars are undoubtedly entertaining, but the number of legends isn’t quite as obvious as back in the day. Through this post, we will be taking a trip down memory lane, as we will be looking back at some of the most entertaining wrestlers that have ever graced our screens. Whether it was amazing wrestling moves, incredible charisma, or their sheer craziness, the guys we will be discussing here had it all.
As we work our way through the guys here, you will likely have some fond memories of their entertainment value from all those years ago. We are truly excited to share this post with you, so let’s get started right away with arguably one of the biggest legends to ever walk into a ring.
1. The Rock
The Rock, or Dwayne Johnson as you might know him as these days, was a true legend of the sport. This man had charisma like no other, and the fans absolutely adored him in and out of the ring. Not only was The Rock a machine in terms of his physical stature and fitness, but he was also one of the most intriguing wrestlers in the game. He had a witty comeback for just about every question that was asked of him, and he was one determined wrestler when he was engaged in high-profile matches.
Who could forget the classic ‘Rock Bottom’ moves that he used to come up with? This move sent shockwaves through stadiums from all over the world, and it put an end to numerous wrestlers throughout his career. Fightroute.com is a wrestling site with many interesting articles about Dwayne Johnson and there is definitely not a lack of topics to write about when it comes to The Rock. To add to the appeal of this guy, he had more nicknames than we can even remember! He would always refer to himself in the third person, and of course, the confidence levels were just sensational. Truly, the sport is not the same without this guy.
2. Ric Flair
From the entertaining to the downright wacky now, we have Ric Flair. While a wrestler such as The Rock was a young guy in his prime, Ric Flair almost always had the feeling of being a bit of a grandfather of the sport. He already had silver flocks when he first stepped into a ring, yet for a guy that often looked a little worse for wear, he was still a rather formidable fighter. It was his craziness that really made him entertaining too, for he just seemed downright insane at times.
Flair would constantly make noises to psyche himself up in the ring and to entertain the fans, of course. He had a wide set of fairly complex wrestling moves that he would perform with perfect execution, yet arguably, his out of ring exploits were what really put him on the map. He had some hilarious exchanges with multiple fighters in the ring, and the expressions on his face were often priceless. There hasn’t been another character like Flair in recent years, which is why he is on this list, to begin with.
3. Stone Cold Steve Austin
This guy was just absolutely sensational. The energy of Stone Cold was awesome, the ability of Stone Cold was magnificent, and above all, he was one of the most entertaining fighters to ever step into a ring. He always strolled around with a bit of an ‘I don’t care attitude’, and he definitely played on his redneck upbringing as a factor for his behaviour. Stone Cold would chug beers in the arena, drive pick up trucks down to the ring, get in the face of almost every wrestler on the roster, and just generally be incredibly entertaining.
He even had some major battles with wrestlers such as The Rock in his time, which is why Stone Cold would regularly be one of the headline acts for WWE. Since Austin retired from the WWE all those years ago, it does seem like his character has not been matched. We can’t think of another wrestler that comes close to his energy and charisma, and truly, Austin was one of the best there has ever been.
4. Conclusion
All of these guys were absolutely amazing in their own right. Whether it was incredible wrestling moves, charisma, or their individual rivalries, they all had that something special both in and out of the ring. From time to time, it is always amusing to look back on the videos of these guys in their prime, and we really hope more wrestlers like these emerge in the coming years.
